I will prefer to die than join hands with BJP again: Bihar CM Nitish Kumar | Patna News

PATNA: CM Nitish Kumar on Monday declared that he would prefer to die than return to any alliance with BJP. “Mar Jana Qabool Hai, Unke Saath Jana Humko Kabhi Qabool Nahi,” Nitish said while reacting to BJP’s decision on Sunday not to have any truck with the JD(U) leader ever.
Reacting to Nitish’s statement, BJP state president Sanjay Jaiswal said, “Nitish had said in 2016 that ‘Mitti mein mil jayenge, lekin BJP ke saath nahi jayenge (I will be ruined, but not go with BJP). After around six years, we are witnessing his second episode saying he would prefer to die than return to BJP alliance. I want to assure the CM and the people of Bihar that Nitish will not be able to repeat his dialogue for a third time.”
Earlier, at the concluding session of the two-day state executive meeting of BJP in Darbhanga on Sunday, BJP’s national general secretary and in-charge of Bihar affairs, Vinod Tawde, said, “It has been decided with the consent of Union home minister Amit Shah and party’s national president J P Nadda that there would be no alliance with Nitish Kumar at any cost in future.”
Nitish mocks BJP claim
The CM was responding to media over the BJP’s decision after paying tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his death anniversary.
“Today is the day of Gandhi’s assassination. Who killed Gandhi? They killed Gandhi mainly because Bapu was protecting all people, including Muslims, after the partition riots. People of new generation should not forget this day,”
Nitish said while making a tilted remark towards those who worship Nathuram Godse, who had killed the Gandhi. While turning towards his deputy Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, Nitish accused BJP of framing him and his father Lalu Prasad “without any reasons”.
“They launched cases against Tejashwi and his father without any concrete reasons to bring me to their side. When I again allied with RJD, they are again trying to register fresh cases (against RJD leaders) to damage them and create confusion among us. They (BJP) always look for a chance to do such things,” Nitish alleged.
Nitish also mocked BJP’s claim to win at least 36 out of the 40 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar in the next elections.
“They will face reality when the elections take place. I hope the parties opposed to BJP come together to defeat them in 2024. In Bihar, they are bound to be defeated as all the ruling Grand Alliance constituents are united,” he claimed.
